Meet Our Pastor
     Reverend Gordon Waterman was raised in Berlin, Wisconsin on a working farm.  His young adult life were spent at Concordia College in Milwaukee, WI. 

     He earned a B.A. from Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1959.  The following year,  he earned a Master of Arts degree in classical languages(Latin, Greek) from the University of Chicago.

      Pastor Waterman entered the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.  His vicarage from 1962-63 was at Concordia Lutheran, Maplewood, Missouri.  He then received his Master of Divinity degree in 1964.  As you can see he has over 50 years experience in the Lutheran ministry.

      While in St. Louis, he obtained a Master of Music degree from Washington University in June 1965.   In 1966 he served as an instructor in Latin and German at St. Paul's College, Concordia, Missouri. And in June 1967, he accepted a call as an assistant professor of music to St. John's College, Winfield, Kansas, where he taught Greek, Latin, Humanities, music and conducted the choir.

      After five years(1969) of teaching, Pastor Waterman served his first congregation, Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington, KS. In the early 70's he accepted a call to Panama City, Fl. at Good Shepherd Lutheran where he also started a church school. After several years he accepted a call to St. John's Lutheran in Lake Charles, LA. And, in 1977 he took a call in Tomball.  Crown of Life Lutheran was started in 1991.
